As you all probably know by now, all new stamps in the SU catalogue are DIE CUT! Yippee!
Here's a great tip from Barb Mullikin - SAVE your paper backing sheet from the rubber, and use it WITH your stamps!
A short tutorial:
Here I have stamped an image from the Snowburst stamp set in Night of Navy ink. You can see the paper backing sheet in this picture.
Place the paper backing over your stamped image. You can use some re positionable adhesive if you like to help it stay in place.
I used a Stampin' Sponge (I cut mine into quarters) to apply a lighter shade of ink over the stamped image in the "template". I used Bordering Blue.
Remove the template and you have just added a shadowed image that is just like the stamped image. Another way to do two-step Stampin'!!
Finished card, I used a Build-A-Brad, Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon and Elastic Cord that will be available in the upcoming Holiday Mini (September 1).
